Fun and Fearless Fashion for Summer Happenings
Fun and Fearless Fashion for Summer Happenings
It’s summertime! Summer is a great time to hang out with your friends and family, head to the beach, BBQs, festivals, and more! Outdoor weddings are also popular during the summer. While these are fun times to be had, our hair doesn’t always cooperate under summer weather conditions. This is why celebrity hair stylist and Miami Beach salon owner Danny Jelaca gave us tips on what the best hairstyles are for each special summer occasion. Check out Danny Jelaca’s suggestions below!
Best Hairstyle for the beach
When you’re at the beach, the last thing you want is your hair hanging in your face and making you all sweaty. A messy top knot is an on-trend way to keep your hair off your face and are very versatile. Want a sexier beach look? Bring the bun down to the middle of your head and add twists or braids on the sides.
Best Hairstyle for a pool party
Whether you plan on taking a dip or not, the splish and splash is bound to end up in your hair. Your hair can be brittle when wet, so avoid pulling it back with an elastic
tie. For this situation, bobby pins are the way to go. For a little volume, gather the front section, pouf with your fingers then twist the end and pin down. To keep flyaways from your face, pull 1-inch sections from the sides, twist and pin.
Best Hairstyle for a backyard BBQ
Barbecuing means lots of food, drinks and socializing, so you want to be on point with this hairstyle. Give your friends something to talk about with a fancy fishtail braid. In order to create a perfect fishtail, your hair needs to be somewhat clean but definitely manageable. The smoother the better – then the pieces for the braid don’t get tangled when creating the “cross and tuck” pattern. This style also keeps hair out of your delicious eats.
Best Hairstyle for an outdoor wedding
Let’s face it– your flat-ironed hair is not going to hold up in the humidity and flat, wavy hair is no way to impress. Instead, be the best looking guest with a flirty wrap ponytail. After shampooing, let your hair dry naturally or use a curling iron to create loose, messy waves. Pull back a ponytail in the middle of your head but leave the sides out. Secure with an elastic band and incorporate the side pieces into the pony by wrapping them around the elastic. Secure with pins and finish with hairspray.
Best Hairstyle for a music festival
Here is where you want to get creative! There really are no rules for style these days at outdoor music festivals so really anything goes. Just keep in mind that allthe heavy foot traffic causes dust to stir and collect in your hair. Try a funky chunky cornrow style by taking 4 large sections of hair and do an inverted French braid.
Best Hairstyle for a hot summer dinner date: Now is the time to let your hair down. Nothing is sexier than loose flowing hair in the nighttime breeze. Let your hair flow naturally and let pieces dangle on your cheek. Whether you prefer straight or wavy, you can jazz up the natural look with a modest hair accessory. Try tucking a flower behind your ear or add a small, embellished clip to one side just above the ear. If you are feeling daring, one of the hottest hair accessories is a modern hair crown. Go for one with a thin chain like Vanessa Hudgens’ and become to stunning summer goddess.
