We recently caught up with celebrity hairstylist Danny Jelaca—who has tamed the tresses of Naomi Campbell, Padma Lakshimi, and Jennifer Lopez—to talk hair trends 2014. In addition to his high-end Miami salon and work with celebrities and fashion brands, Jelaca is known for crafting hairstyles to align with fashion trends.

For 2014 Jelaca predicts several trends such as boyish bobs and hair accessories, but if one thing’s for sure it’s this: Waves and texture are in. “Deep side parts with texture are very spring 2014,” says Jelaca. “Tousled effortless waves are in too. The perfect wave is very hot.” And by effortless waves, he really does mean effortless. Jelaca says the best way to create this look is so simply twist damp hair into tendrils and pin until try.
